Silent Myocardial Infarction: A Case Report
We present a case of a 59-year-old overweight woman with prediabetes, primary hypertension, and hypercholesterolemia who presented for herpes zoster (HZ) follow-up; she reported having skipped heartbeats and heart rate fluctuations during the review of systems. On further workup, ECG revealed low voltage QRS complexes, flat QRS complexes, flat T waves, and pathological Q waves, suggesting the diagnosis of SMI. Based on the identified risk factors, including high BMI, prediabetes, primary hypertension, hypercholesterolemia, HZ, and newly diagnosed SMI, the patient was advised to continue with lisinopril 20 mg daily, prescri...

Effect of the varicella vaccination on the clinical characteristics of herpes zoster cases aged 20 years and under
In conclusion, the number and spread of shingles in most children and adolescents are less, and the complications such as PHN are less. Varicella vaccination can reduce the decrustation time and relieve shingles cases with some clinical symptoms.PMID:37482741 | DOI:10.3760/cma.j.cn112150-20220905-00868

Prevention of Shingles in Dermatology Patients on Systemic Medications
Skin Therapy Lett. 2023 Jul;28(4):4-6.ABSTRACTThe lifetime risk for herpes zoster (HZ) of approximately 1 in 3 is increased with advancing age, a family history of HZ, diseases with altered immune function, immunosuppression, physical trauma and psychological stress. In dermatology, monotherapy with current biologics does not increase risk, however systemic steroids, Janus kinase inhibitors and combination biologic/conventional disease-modifying antirheumatics do. The recombinant zoster vaccine (RZV, Shingrix®), an adjuvanted non-live subunit vaccine against the glycoprotein E subunit of varicella zoster virus, is approve...
